Paralyzed Veterans of America partners with Excelsior College to help veterans, PVA members, staff and volunteers explore higher education – Natural Self Esteem

WASHINGTON, March 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Paralyzed Veterans of America announces a new partnership with Excelsior College – a state-based private online higher education institution new York – to help bring practical adult education directly to America’s veterans. As part of the cooperation Excelsior College offers PVA members, their spouses, domestic partners, volunteers and staff a 20% discount on tuition. They are also offering this generous discount to PVA’s Veteran Career Program customers, who will receive guidance to help them explore Excelsior’s degree and certificate programs.

Every veteran – regardless of economic status, injury or illness – deserves the opportunity to feel that sense of accomplishment,” said Shaun Castle, associate general manager of PVA. “And thanks to generous partners such as Excelsior Collegethat will ease the financial burden and stand side-by-side with our members (and career program clients) throughout the higher education process.”

Excelsior extends its support for PVA even further, providing a dedicated team to guide PVA students through the Excelsior experience from start to finish. This process includes their credit policy, which allows PVA students to transfer up to 90% of their credits to most undergraduate degrees and apply their military experience and previously earned college credits to accelerate graduation. Additional support services include financial aid specialists and accessibility services.

The PVA/Excelsior partnership was formed as a result of PVA’s Veteran Career Program continually seeking creative ways to better serve the veteran community – with a focus on those who are paralyzed or experiencing other barriers – by offering the services to them They need meaningful employment, education, training and volunteer opportunities. Excelsior Accessibility Services and its dedicated Military and Veteran Admissions Advisors and Academic Advisors strive to guide PVA members and others in their academic journey. Together they strive to provide equal access to education and to help the veteran community achieve their career goals.
