Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon has reflected on his successful career spanning decades and has spoken candidly about his revelation about the importance of living in the moment.

The 63-year-old singer, who appeared on the Three Little Words podcast, spoke to hosts John Bishop and Tony Pitts to explain his mindset: “If you’re not in the present, you’re really missing out on life, completely and it dawned on me over time, really, I think the ’90s.”

Speaking of bandmate John Taylor, Simon said, “We realized that we shouldn’t be thinking about what we’re going to do next, the thing that’s in the future. Think about what you are doing now! Because that’s what matters most, It’s the only thing you really live with, you can only live in the present. You can’t live the past, you can’t live the future.”

Ahead of Duran Duran embarks on their ‘Future Past’ tour of Europe and the UK this summer, Simon also revealed how the group creates the setlist for their performances: “We’re trying to give the show a dynamic. So let’s start with a bang, and then two or three bangs in a row is a great way to start the show.

“Then we go and try out new music, and after you’ve done that, maybe do something esoteric and maybe take it down, take the tempo down, take the energy down and have a darker, more introspective part of the.” Performance.

“After that, I prefer to suddenly come back with some really high energy and keep that up until the end of the show. And you go out and give those songs to the people in the audience. It’s about giving the songs people love back to them.”
