CrowdStrike Opens Call for Applications for its 2022-23 NextGen Scholarships – Natural Self Esteem

Austin, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE). This year, up to eight (8) $10,000 scholarships will be awarded to select undergraduate and graduate students studying cybersecurity or artificial intelligence (AI). NextGen Scholarship applicants are also included in the CrowdStrike internship candidate pool, giving aspiring students both greater access to world-class education and marketable, hands-on experience in one of today’s most critical and fastest-growing industries.

CrowdStrike created the grant program in 2017 to nurture and develop the next generation of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) talent and researchers. To date, CrowdStrike has awarded more than $165,000 in scholarships to 24 of the top students in the US and Canada.

Applicants for the 2022-23 academic year must be current undergraduate, graduate or high school seniors enrolled full-time in fall 2022 at a college/university in the United States or Canada with a major in cybersecurity or AI and succeeding at least 3, 30 GPA. Recipients are evaluated on the basis of academic achievement, essay content, expressed professional interest, and work/internship/volunteer experience in cybersecurity, AI, or related fields.

“Cybersecurity is an area that is becoming more important every year, especially as our lives become increasingly digital. I hear about data breaches, ransomware attacks, and numerous other cybersecurity threats on the news all the time,” said Aneesh Boreda, recipient of the 2021-22 NextGen Scholarship Award, who majors in Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. “By pursuing a career in using artificial intelligence to build powerful security tools to counter these threats, I can help develop the next generation of algorithms used in the arms race between cyber attackers and security companies.”

How to apply

The scholarship program is administered by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS), an independent company specializing in the administration of sponsored educational assistance programs. ISTS hosts the online application process, answers applicant inquiries and carries out a preliminary ranking for the selection process.
