There are a number of countries British travelers can now visit without taking a Covid test before departure. But for thousands of holidaymakers, Spain is not on the list.
The nation has made a quick about-face from previous changes that suggested it had eased restrictions in time for the Easter holidays. But just hours after the announcement, travelers were told the information provided was incorrect due to an error in interpretation by the official state bulletin, reports LiverpoolECHO.
All UK visitors aged 12 and over are still required to provide full vaccination records or a certificate of convalescence (not older than 180 days). The only exception is for people aged 12 to 17 (inclusive) who can show a negative Covid test (PCR or similar) carried out within 72 hours before arrival in Spain.
However, there are currently 21 countries that UK citizens can visit without having to be fully vaccinated or tested before arrival. However, some of these places may not be on everyone’s list of resorts for the vacation of a lifetime.
Here are the destinations open to visitors without having to show they’ve been vaccinated or tested, according to the UK Foreign Office.
UK visitors are not required to provide proof of vaccination, proof of health, proof of a negative test or receipt of an Irish Passenger Locator form. No post-arrival testing or quarantine requirements are required for travel to Ireland.
Anyone who develops Covid-19 symptoms while in Ireland should follow HSE guidance in relation to isolation and have antigen or PCR testing where appropriate.
Since March 28, the quarantine requirement upon arrival in Poland has been lifted. Proof of vaccination status upon entry is also not required. A pre-departure test is no longer required for travelers arriving from non-Schengen countries, including the UK.
From April 1st, people entering Sweden from the UK or other countries outside the EU/EEA will no longer need to present a negative Covid-19 test or proof of vaccination.
There are no Covid-19 related testing or self-isolation requirements when entering Denmark.
Most UK citizens can enter without a test, with the country open to travelers regardless of vaccination status. Travelers must fill out a health declaration form and scan the QR code it generates upon arrival.
Entry requirements for Norway are the same for all travellers, regardless of Covid-19 vaccination status. No proof of vaccination is required to enter Norway.
There are no travel restrictions related to Covid-19.
It is not necessary to present a vaccination status or a negative test result to enter Montenegro.
All Covid-19 entry restrictions for Hungary have been lifted. The nation does not require proof of Covid-19 vaccination or a negative test result to enter the country, regardless of vaccination status.
All restrictions related to Covid-19 were lifted on March 9th. There is no longer an obligation to go into quarantine, to test yourself before entering Romania or to fill out the PLF (Passenger Locator Form).
Proof of vaccination is no longer required for entry.
British nationals traveling to Lithuania from the UK will no longer need to show their vaccination status, recovered from Covid-19 or a negative test result on arrival.
It is recommended that UK citizens fill out a passenger locator form before traveling to Madeira and neighboring Porto Santo. Anyone traveling with children under the age of 11 should fill in their details on your form. There are no other entry requirements.
From April 6th, travelers arriving from the UK will not need a Covid-19 vaccination certificate or a negative test. All travelers are required to fill out a Health Declaration (Declaracíon Jurada de Sanidad) online prior to travel.
Adults who are not fully vaccinated can visit Costa Rica without taking a test as long as they have proof of travel insurance that covers accommodation and medical expenses in the event of contracting Covid-19. Persons under the age of 18 and fully vaccinated adults can enter Costa Rica without compulsory insurance.
Most travelers can enter El Salvador without a negative test result and are not required to self-quarantine upon arrival. Visitors do not need to be vaccinated, however travelers are advised to bring proof of vaccination as this may be required to enter certain events and venues.
It is not necessary to present a vaccination card or a negative PCR or antigen test certificate for entry. All visitors must complete the Registration Immunization Information Form and require a visa to enter or transit through Saudi Arabia.
All travelers, regardless of their vaccination status, are no longer required to undergo PCR testing before departure and PCR testing upon arrival in Jordan. All travelers require a visa to enter or transit through Jordan as a visitor.

Persons traveling to Latvia from EU, EEA countries, Switzerland or the UK are not required to show proof of vaccination upon arrival, undergo Covid-19 testing or self-isolate.
